Welcome to Centreville Community Church!
If you have questions about God or if you are looking for a church, we would love to meet you! We invite you to visit a Sunday service, a small group meeting or to attend one of our events. As you plan your visit, here are a few things you may want to know.
Centreville Community Church is not a building or even a church service. It's a network of real people (with real problems) who have met God face to face, a growing community of Christ–followers in real relationships with one another. But it is also a collection of those who are just beginning to learn about God, finding out that He is not only relevant but also interested in their lives.
We continue to be a community of learners but so far we have learned four basic things that have helped us discover what it means to live life as it was really meant to be. We have found that real life comes by...
- Connecting with God through worship and with the church family through membership.
- Growing into a mature follower of Christ by applying biblical principles to daily life.
- Serving others through a ministry for which you are gifted.
- Going into the world with the message of God's transforming love.
But it all begins with an encounter with God.
Maybe you are finding that you're tired of going it alone, of shouldering the daily stresses and pressures of life that can seem insurmountable to EVERYONE at times and you need God and a caring community. God has promised us, “a whole, healed, put-together life right now, with more and more of life on the way!” (See Romans 6:22 in the Message). Are you looking for that? Do you want freedom from alcohol, drugs, pornography, depression, or fear? A real encounter with God is where your freedom begins – where real life begins.
Centreville Community Church exists for that reason; we provide the sacred spaces where people can experience a genuine encounter with God.
What To Expect On Your First Visit
When you visit Centreville Community Church you can expect to find people just like you.
If you visit us for a Sunday morning service you can expect to be greeted at the door warmly and presented with a printed program with the service order for the day so you can easily follow along in the service. If you have children, a greeter will guide you to the nursery, the preschool classes or children's service, all staffed by screened well-trained workers who will take great care of your kids. (Hey, its a free, too... an hour and a half of free childcare every week while you take in the service!).
As you walk into the main meeting room you will likely pass by a table where a light breakfast is served. You will find that people often take a cup of coffee with them as they find their seat. When the service begins you can expect your worship experience to include music and singing, prayer, giving, listening to the Scriptures, teaching, and Communion - all as an act of God-centered worship. Feel free to join us in any of these ways as we encounter God together.
For the teaching time, we typically provide an outline, including the passages from the Bible used in the message. The sermons are presented as verse by verse teaching, mixed with humor and delivered with the promise that what you hear on Sunday you can use on Monday!
Following the service, you may be invited to one of our small groups or events or simply invited to return next week. If you have questions or would like to meet the pastor and staff, you will have an opportunity for that after the service as well.
Again, we invite you to visit with us and we look forward to meeting you.
From here you can...
